The client for this project was a growing family living in a detached home that no longer met their needs. The end result is a beautiful five bedroom home that addresses the heritage of the area in its use of materials and building characteristics.
At the front of the building we have introduced a traditional gabled roof form with intricate dentil course brick detailing and enhanced existing stone window surrounds to reinforce the historic street scene. Simultaneously in designing the rear we have incorporated clearly modern features to promote outdoor living.
The success of this project is in the subtlety of its unassuming presence that conceals the distinctly contemporary architectural approach to the interior and rear of the home.
