This proposed development consists of twenty-seven studio apartments above seven retail units on a main transport gateway into Nottingham.
Setting back the development from the existing building line, we have reinstated the street front in four of the retail units creating an articulated facade with three particularly extruded units. At the centre of the scheme, we have increased the height of the building to bring a strong sense of presence to the street scene whilst tapering the adjoining sides of the scheme to suit the existing ridge height of the neighbouring properties.
We have used a mixed palate of materials such as traditional bricks and more contemporary render with accents of coloured cladding that revitalise the vibrancy of a monochrome street scene.
