The client for this project bought this Grade II Listed Period cottage in Claypole dating back to the 17th Century in order to restore it to an attractive and functional three bedroom family home.

Having a history of multiple phases of work, the building consists of a number of disparate materials in addition to the original brick and stonework. Our design aimed to remove unnecessary and dated materials and restore the original brick and stonework through re-pointing and repair in order to create a cohesive whole.

This restoration project is an example of attention to detail and materials enabling the building to reflect the local vernacular tradition in a functional way.
